Architectural Significance
This attractive late 19th century homestead is of interest as an example of the persistence of the sidehall plan, Italianate house in Bridgewater. Composed of a rectangular plan with small side additions, it rises 1 1/2 stories to a gable roof with return eaves. Encircling its 3-bay main and west facades is a veranda with square posts. In general, windows are simply enframed and contain 2/2wood sash.
Historical Significance
This house does not appear on the 1879 atlas. In 1903 it is labeled Mrs. Frohwitter--no listings for Frohwitter appear in 1890s or early 1900s directories.
