Architectural Significance

This is a relatively rare Bridgewater example of the Queen Anne style. #460 Broad St. is composed of a long rectangular main block with an encircling verandah (turned porch posts, balusters) and a southwest facing octactonal tower with a steeply pitched pyramidal roof.

Historical Significance

Built between 1880 and 1887, this house was originally occupied by Michael T. Grady, "Box toe maker." Broad Street was part of the old Boston and New Bedford turnpike which was laid out in 1805-1806—this thoroughfare also included Bedford St. (later Rte 18).
