Architectural Significance
Although this house has the appearance of a Greek Revival/ltalianate cottage, the owner's deed research indicates that it was built in 1796. Particularly noteworthy is this house's Italianate cornice headed lintels and the c. 1900 Colonial Revival, Tuscan columned porch.
Historical Significance
This house was built for a branch of Bridgewater's Leonard family. It appears on the 1830 map labeled N and S Leonard. Seth H. Leonard, farmer is listed here during the 1850's-1870's. Since the early 1900's members of the Burroughs family have owned this house.
