Architectural Significance

This is a south facing Greek Revival house with steeply pitched gables (mildly Gothic Revival in form) and a 5-bay main facade. Main entrance retains handsome Greek Revival entrance enframement.

Historical Significance

Prospect St. apparently dates to the early 19th c. It was cut through from Pleasant to Prospect St. by 1830. The present house first appears on the 1852 map and is labeled T. C. Briggs (Thomas C. Briggs, occupation unknown). By 1874/75 Royal Keith, farmer lived here. During the early 1900s Arthur R. Tinkham owned this property—directories list his occupation as "butter".
