Well sited on a tree shaded rise on the west side of North St., near Pleasant St., this Greek Revival Italianate cottage is of interest as a departure from center hall and side hall plans. Rising 1 1/2 stories from a heavy granite block foundation to a broad gable roof, this dwelling stands with its 3 bay east gable to the street. The entrance is located on the 4 bay south wall near the southeast corner. Its front door is surrounded by heaving Doric pilasters and classicized entablature. Its windows are fully enframed with shallow cornices and 6/1 wood sash. This house's edges are crisply defined by wide corner and farcia boards. The east, west and south gables exhibit sawcut brackets and return eaves.
