Architectural Significance
This is a late example of an Italianate house. It possesses a side hall plan and rises 2 1/2 stories from a brick foundation to a gable roof with return eaves. The entrance is pedemented and exhibits sidelights. In general windows contain 6/6 wood sash and are fully enframed with small brackets beneath the sills and cornice headed windows. The attic exhibits a narrow round headed window—a similarly rendered barn is situated on this lot.
Historical Significance
In 1890 S.D. Keith, laborer, purchased this lot from a J. Wendall and a P. Sturtevant. Prior to the 1880's this lot had been part of the Bryant estate. (The Bryant House was once located at the northeast corner of South and Mt. Prospect Streets.)
