Architectural Significance
This Greek Revival, sidehall plan house was apparently moved to this site during the early 1870s. It isa solid, wellcrafted example of a Greek Revival 1 story cottage with handsome, classical revival entrance enframements, windows containing 6/6 wood sash, with pedimented lintels and a fully enframed attic (note corner and fascia boards). To the rear is a 19th c. barn with cornice headed lintels and a broad gable with return eaves.
Historical Significance
Built c. 1845 and moved to Mt. Prospect St. from an undetermined location c. early 1870s, this charming Greek Revival cottage was the home of the Henry F. Braman family from the early 1870s until at least the early 1900s. Henry F. Braman was the proprietor of Braman Brothers, a prosperous late 19th. sign and carriage painting business, located off Central Square.
