Historical Significance
This house may have been moved to its present site judging by its cinder block foundation. It occupies the site of a house owned by Carver and Hayward during the early 1830s. By the 1850s an Isaac Sturtevant lived on this site. By the 1870s William Sturtevant, farmer, lived here. His wife is listed as a "clairvoyant physician". During the early 1900s Martin L. Washburn, "millman" lived here. To the northeast, the 1903 atlas shows Jenkins Bros, and Co., Leatherboard Mfg. Pratt Town developed as a mill center between 1792-1830.
