Historical Significance
As early as 1716 a James Perkins lived in a house on or near this site. During the first half of the 19th century this house was associated with Bridgewater's Robinson family, early occupants include an I. and A.D. Robinson—apparently these Robinsons were associated with the Lazell Perkins (later Bridgewater Iron Co.)—other Robinsons living in this neighborhood included Gad and Jacob Robinson, skilled metal workers. By the 1870's a T. Keith lived here. By the early 1900's, S. K, Eaton, carpenter, owned this property. This house is an important component in the cluster of early mid-19th c. houses at the Main-Center-High cross anchoring the southwest corner of Main and Center Sts.
