Built c. 1850, this house is part of the enclave of workers' cottages constructed by Lazell, Perkins Iron Works (Bridgewater Iron Co.) between c. 1823-1875. This company began to sell off its residential properties to private individuals beginning in 1889. In 1893 the Stanley Tool Co. bought the old Lazell, Perkins Iron Works. By that time Simon Sheehan, fireman, had purchased this property.
